it's not that hard
go find Edness on the M.A. forum, he adjusted his so many times, he had the car up on jacks more than on the road..

I think I once counted off 12 threads/inch on the shock body...
and I believe 0.7" of adjustment on the spring perch should equate to 1.0" adjustment in ride height (in theory...but somehow it doesn't always work out that way).
Furthermore, if you look in my picture poster, you'll see two pics of H&R coilovers on a 2000 A4 Quattro 1.8T. You can count the threads from the bottom to the lower spring perch. That setting resulted in a 1 finger gap all around (which should be about 25.0").
