Default Anyone ever get a ticket from Ezpass from a distance time calculation between two tolls?

I looked at my statement and did the calculations on one stretch and I averaged twice over the legal limit.

Just wondering...

Default The could, but dont (yet)

Thats the one thing I hate about EZ-PASS yet I still have one because they save so much time. I went through the holland tunnel last night and the EZ=Pass lane was empty, and the cash lanes were backed up for half a mile

Default Without a photo of your plate, how could they prove the EZ was in your car and- ->

not on loan to someone else?

Default My uncle told me to be careful on the Ohio Turnpike (I-80)...

because they will do that. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but it wouldn't surprise me since they are ****'s about speeding in that state.

Car and Driver wrote an article a long time ago, regarding a truck that was issued a citation on the NYS Thruway due to the times indicated on his EZPass record. At the time, the article indicated that they would do this with commercial vehicles, but not private passenger vehicles. I don't recall why they made the distinction.

Default EZpass can kiss my ***. I got 5 tickets on the Garden State for toll violations when there

was no violation. All the tolls I went through signified that my toll was paid, yet I got 5 tickets from the same night indicating that I didn't pay the toll. They provided a picture of my car/plate as I went trhough each toll plaza too.

They charged $25 per ticket for a *35 cent* toll fee. Naturally I fought it.

I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if they started issuing tickets based on elapsed times through toll plazas.

Default I got the ezpass with reservations, but am worried about the days when I'm moving quick.

Thanks for the feedback, so far nobody has experienced this yet. If I sniff that they're going that way; I'll hand in the Ezpass.

i think the expectation is that you won't loan it out. i imagine if the thing was 'on loan' to someone when that someone got some ticket, the ez-pass holder would be liable regardless.

Default I hope they do it on a random basis...

Otherwise, I wouldn't be on the road.
