th QP is an AWESOME drivers car! It's a real experience to drive...
most people have to get use to the gear box shifts, but once you learn where to put your foot and when to shift its smooth saling. Suspension is tight, firm, but not too stiff or rigid. The stereo is out of this world! Bose did an incredible job with it!! The Sport GT wheels add a lot of grip but the ride quality is obviously lost a bit. Service issues? Earlier cars had problems, but now its been mostly worked out. Hope your parents enjoy it! IMO people who drive large sedans, who are looking for feed back as if they were driving an M5, should be driving a QP. Its not a sedan looking to be sporty, its more like a sports car looking to be a sedan.
Hope they enjoy it

one of my clients has it, along with a 355 and a old 308
i got to drive the 355 for a custom stereo install i did. I think its the only car system ive installed in YEARS
of course i did his house as well.

I'm not sure I'd want to finance a $125k car that'll depreciate like a rock in 3-years..
I know cars in this class ie. Benz S600, Audi W12, 760Li dont hold their value well in general, but the Maserati's are especially poor even among that elite class..

Don't own a QP, but have driven one several times...
and I didn't really like it that much. Dealing with the hassle of Duoselect/Cambiocorsa is only fun for me in a sportier car (read: smaller). In terms of luxury, it isn't really large enough for my tastes, and its electronics are noticably behind those in newer German models.
Now, if your parents don't mind the smallish back seats (for its class) and aren't into streaming A2DP bluetooth stereo to their car audio, at least Maserati has introduced fully automatic QPs recently (don't know when they'll be on sale).
Maintenance-wise, they are not German... so you may expect a few more days (or weeks) in the shop ... Ferrari/Maserati service shops are notoriously slow and/or overbooked.
I don't find the depreciation that much worse than German, and usually in this price range, most people are somewhat insensitive to it.
Finally, in terms of exoticness, you aren't gonna get the same "feeling" or looks from strangers in a German car that you will with Maserati. Whether that's a thumbs up or down for your parents depends on their personality.
