5speed6 v.2

...last night after the LI g2g, I had to go from East Meadow to Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn.

It was raining lightly when I left, and when I got to the beginning of the Belt Parkway, the roads were nicely covered in rain and with puddles.

Light traffic, and I was travelling "nicely" in the left lane. A car comes up behind me pretty quickly, gets very close, so I move to the middle, let it pass, and move back to the left. It was a BMW 645i.

Almost immediately it started to downpour.
I continue with my mph unaffected at all except to turn up the speed on the wipers. I'm watching the BMW in front of me having trouble handling now, he hydroplaned once and amost lost it. Now I come up upon him as he's braking on and off trying to cope. Now HE moves to the middle lane for me, and I haven't changed my speed once. I pass him and continue on, seeing him fall further and further back.

About 5 minutes later as I approch my exit there is a bit of traffic and I slow down alot. I get over to the right and notice that the BMW has now caught up, and exits behind me. At the light he comes up next to me, honks and lowers his window. I lower mine. He asks "Is that all wheel drive?". Remembering I'm debadged...I respond "Yes...Audi Quattro" with a big smile. He nods his head. I add "If it's any consolation, I like your car, just not for New York Winter driving". He responds "obviously"..smiles & says "have a good night".

For the record... 21 minutes, East Meadow-Coney Island...without trying. I love my car....most of the time
