This happened to me one time while driving in Westchester County. Coming down a mountainous road, I was the third car in a huge pack doing about 60mph in a 40mph zone (didn't realize this at the time since I've never been on the road before) and it seemed "safe" to me to be driving that speed so I just sticked with it. The next thing you know the V1 is going crazy saying laser and I'm looking; no cop to be found but slowed down anyway (had some occurances with an Infiniti FX35's adaptive cruise control to set off the V1's laser). Seconds later I come around a bend, get shot again with laser and see a cop dead ahead in front of me but this time only doing 45mph.
Nothing can really stop laser, blinder or a lidateck can do it but is another $400 after getting a V1. Just don't speed so fast and take it easy, there really is no big rush where we need to get there that fast.
Also not being the first car helps a lot so waiting for that kind civilian to lead the way will definately increase the "effectivness" of the V1.
