Every day some roadway situation or another will trigger a response from me, usually somethign like
this:
Merging - today I'm merging, for some reason my brain insists on taking mental note of who is where around me and behind me in order to merge 'fairly'. This particular quality comes from what I was raised with, common decency.
Needless to say this effort is quite pointless just about anywhere in the world these days, but especially in the tristate area.
So this morning I'm merging, trying to stay 'out of the box'. Out of the corner of my eye in rearview I see some DOUCHE in a lumina making is way around everyone and ultimately coming up beside me. We're on a one lane road..I stay beside him..
I'm in my SUV, not the audi, and therefore tend to be a tad more willing to become aggressive in this situation...sorry DOUCHE...
I WIN !! remarkable, chalk one up to the little guys, various co-mergers are clapping in my rearview, I can hear rocky music, cheerleaders are abound on the 5 lanes toward the holland tunnel in my great victory.
Siren.
Flashing Lights.
DOUCHE is a cop.
Am I allowed to say DOUCHE?

Pulls up next to me, I didn't stop, so we were rolling next to each other down toward the tunnel
We open our windows
He says 'what was that all about'
I say 'that was a poor merge situation'
He says 'ok' and puts his window up
Quite comical really, I half expected him to tell the tunnel police to bust my chops
Not as bad as the time I cut off a taxi cab with the S, it turned out to be an ummarked cop with 3 detective types in the car..

blah....you shoulda pretended to be of a higher rank than some schmuck in a lumina
and bust his chops about using emergency lights in a non emergency situation...
