Did they find alcohol in your car (like you hadn't been drinking it)....
or did they find that you were drinking it? IIRC from drivers ed, or at least in NJ, there are different penalties. I thought that if they just found it in your car and you were underage it was just a really big fine, but no suspension. If they found that you were drinking it then it was suspension of license/community serivce/jail time (?)/fine Let us know how it turns out.

not true anymore. Get caught drinking ANYWHERE and you have a license...
it gets suspended. This includes even in your dorm room at college and the local cops come and catch you. If they find out you have a license, it gets suspended.

One reason why I never drank when I was underage. I knew damn well the cops could come, get my ID, and then suspend my license for 6 months. Even if your keys and car were 20 miles or a state away, they have the right to take your license for underage drinking.
