The sedan was the first of the line introduced, with the coupe planned for later release.

Plus the coupe is in the G35/Nissan z class of cars and the Sedan is in a totally different segment/class to battle the S-class benz and the 7-seires.

..the Genesis is not really targeted for Mercedes S Class and BMW buyers. Think about it, if you want status, and have the money for an S-Class, are you *really* gonna buy a Hyundai??

The Genesis targets the Chrysler 300C and Pontiac G8 buyer with the luxury refinements found in $60,000 cars for a $35K pricetag.
