k40 rd850 radars good? or is escort 8500 better?
got it a few days ago b/c they were sold out of the escort 8500. same price but the k40 came with a 1yr reimburstment for any tickets i get while using it. think this was a good buy? or should i return it and switch to the escort?
lastly... do we need pop band for nj?

I've had my 8500 for a few years, works great. No complaints
If you get one, just practice with different modes until you find the one you like. I use
Highway Mode all the time with the Volume on the
Loud Setting. I also got the hardwire kit online and set it up directly through the fuzebox.

if you live in Jersey, there's still plenty of X band around to warrant always being in Highway
The State Police are using Laser and KA band, though. I drove past a trooper who left his KA gun on the other day on the Turnpike, about five miles from the GWB. I've had my 8500 for going on 2 years now, didn't save me from a laser ticket, but I certainly wouldn't expect that. Saved me from several tickets over my ownership, money well spent.

no experience...
but in my opinion, it's 8500 or V1. At least on the 8500, the beeps are easily distinguishable between X, K, and KA. You shouldn't be choosing a detector because it talks to you.
