tickets. If you talk to him tell him Kip referred you. 108 is a hefty offense so I would take is seriously.

i.e. - vehicle was clocked at 86 mph in a 55
Even though the charge on the ticket might be "failure to obey traffic control device" with the associated statute?
Often times, that's what I've seen officers do, so they can keep things straight should...
1. They be asked questions in court.
2. The driver try to plea down the charge in court yet AGAIN, even though they've been given a break roadside.

They will have the notes on the radar unit and how they calibrated it that morning as well as their training. Their notes will also mimic the ticket and include where they were positioned. Honestly, they don't care if you plea it down and dispute it at trial. In the end it's just part of their job.
If you are disrespectful and are not polite they will remember that and you can expect a hard time the next time you are pulled over.

The one time in my life I got a speeding ticket, I was 19, I went to court and tried to pull the old "I was only doing 65" trick with the judge. Then the cop pulls out this little notepad where he had almost our entire conversation written down verbatim, including the part where he said "do you know how fast you were going?" and I replied "not really". He felt bad because I forced out a tear or two and let me go with a seatbelt ticket anyway. ![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
You'll be surprised the **** they write down. Your best bet is to go, be honest, and plea to his human side. Showing up with a lawyer, trying to weasel your way out of it...only pisses them off more.

never remembers the offense. And if the offense is serious enough you should have a lawyer. The police/state have a whole DA's office to prosecute you.

I onced tried to bargain with the court magistrate and he said if I took my case to court, he would recommend to the judge that my license get suspended.
Who knows if he was bluffing, but I wasn't ready to test him. His scare tactic worked and I didn't take it to a judge.
