If I understand correctly they only use laser on the highways but are not allowed to use laser off the highways?

So the question should be, where do state police patrol?

That being said, somebody on the B6 forum mentioned the use of laser and radar in Warminster PA (local police). Legally, they can not use it as a evidence, but they can use it to quickly pinpoint speeders, then follow up with vascar or pacing technique to get admissible evidence. Seems like a waste of money, and a PITA, but that's the only explanation I can think of to validate this person's observations.

The local districts from Philadelphia international airport to Northeast Philadelphia use laser and vascar the state patrol will do the same in those areas as well.Got this information a the PPD Hwy patrol officer at the NorthEast Phila Airport who has patrolled that stretch of asphalt, they can also tag you from an aviation unit as well, they just got what looks like a Bell 222 with that new gyro cam that does infrared and it looks like the same setup the Maryland State police uses.
