Default Paging Mr. Mom. Classic Automobiles of Eastchester Service review: STAY AWAY.

Where do you get service near home? I just took mine in for the 5000 miles service to Classic in Mt. Vernon....I know....against all of your advice. But I figured for this type of thing, what could go wrong?

So first off I asked them if they use any ammonia based product for cleaning windows b/c I have Huper Optik tinting. They said, yes..."the blue stuff" which I guess means Windex...so I said skip the windows. Then I asked if they do a hand wash...as their receip/bill says....they said no, we use brushes....Ok, skip the wash. I asked them what is done...answer: fluids, oil, filters, tire rotation.

So I come to pick it up, and being that they didn't wash it, I could tell nobody had touched the wheels as the same brake dust darkened wheels were on the front, and the valve caps were still dirty. I went back in and told them nobody rotated the tires. She asked me how I could tell...duh...told them. So they did it while I waited.

Never going back...Where do you go? Hopefully somewhere that picks up the car and gives me a loner if necessary.

Default Not that I'm sticking up for them because I too have had questionable service there, but.....

if when they took off the wheel they just grabbed the entire tire rather than just the spokes of the wheels you could rotate the tires without putting finger/hand prints in the brake dust. Just my 2 cents.

Default Yes, but what he was saying is that the fronts (which always have...

...more brake dust than the rears) were still in the front. So obviously, they didn't switch them around.

Default Granted, but they in fact were not changed. I have some curb rash on two wheels...

and I also recognized they had not moved.

Default Ouch, sorry to hear that..... As far as service goes, I am out of waranty

but if I need Audi to work on my car I go to Anchor Audi on LI.

Nice service writers and very good mechanics. I know most of them by name and they know me. They always do the job and in the one case where something came loose post work, they repaired it free.

Oh and they give me free loaners too and I didn't buy there!

You might try the dealer in Rockland too!

If you ever hear a louder than normal B5A4 Avant, that's me! let's chat....
