I recognized the 500's grille right awy.
Add this to their list of undercover cars in use:
Ford 500
Ford Crown Vic
Chevy Impala
Dodge Intrepid
Chevy SUV's
Keep your eyes peeled.

i was heading west on northern state/gcp coming back from jones beach... and this state trooper with out any lights on (headlights or sirens etc) came flying up behind me... mustve been going about 80mph... i quickly changed lanes, and then he took off... about a 1/4 mile up he pulled over a white x5 that was driving insanely... but im wondering whats a greater hazard, the x5 weaving through the cars, or a dark coloured speeding cop car with out any headlights or sirens etc on.

That and cops on cell phones.
WTF?
I don't recall anywhere in the law in CT or NY saying they have special priviledges to not us hands-free.

"DO I HAVE TO STOP FOR AN UNMARKED CRUISER?
Yes, Not all cruisers utilized by Police Departments are marked to the extent of lettering or visibly mounted emergency lights. Under Connecticut motor vehicle law an emergency vehicle is one equipped with an audible signal device, flashing or revolving lights. Enforcement techniques dictate the vehicles necessity.
The police officer must display his badge of office and identify himself if not in uniform at the time of the stop."<ul><li><a href="http://www.ct.gov/dps/cwp/view.asp?a=2153&q=294402">Bottom of Page</a></li></ul>

No lights, sirens, or anything, He had to have been doing about 60 while the rest of us were doing maybe 35 or so. Just passed us right on the outside. Scared the crap out of me.
