Default Rain-x on my driver's side window causing my auto-up/down to fail?

About 2 weeks ago, I applied Rain-x to my windows after a wash. I noticed just a couple of days ago that the driver's side window would "shudder" a little when going down. It would be smooth going up though. Last night, as I got home and flipped the switch to auto-up the window, the windows went up halfway and then went back down. This happened a couple of times until I held the switch up to get the window to close. I've read how you can just reset the auto-up/down feature by holding the button until the window goes all the way down/up. I'm just curious if the Rain-x caused the roller to "slip" against the window causing it to think that it was obstructed or something.

Default A few things....

1) There's no "roller" on the window. It's acutally attached to the window regulator at the bottom of the glass.

2) To reset the windows, you need to use your key, from the outside driver's door lock. Roll the windows up, then down, and repeat twice. When they go all the way up, hold the key there for 3 seconds, then roll all the way down and hold key turned for 3 seconds. Repeat. Done.

Default It might be easier then that...

Whenever I disconnect the battery the auto window feature stops. To reset it all I do is lower the windows all the way and then lift them all the way. That usually does it for me.

Default no good...there's something slowing down the window just 1/2 inch before full close

From full open, closing window is smooth until I get to about 1" from top and that's when it starts shuddering and then comes to a stop about 1/2" from full close. I have to release and flip the switch again to fully close. Same goes for key in door method. I guess I'm gonna have to take apart the door and see what's going on behind there before I can re-enable the auto-up/down feature.

Sounds like a broken window guide, common on the C5, search there for repair details.
