Default blue ribbon on sullivan street in is a great alternative to GT

if you like GT try the following:
MAS
Aqua grill
little owl (prob wont get a reservation but they hold 6 tables for walk-ins)

those places have the same style of cusine as GT.

best of the best in imho
japanese-megu tribeca
itailian-Babbo
steak-quality meats
american-Blue ribbon or little owl
seafood-aqua grill or Tides
french-per se or boulle
diner-landmarc
brunch-cipriani downtown(soho)

Default LITTLE OWL!!! I love the food there. Much more casual than GT, bu the food is fantastic.

Hard to get a res, but wrth the efort for the month in advance. Tried the walk in approach on a whim two weeks ago... "2 and half hour wait for walk-ins". Yuck.
