Would like 7 passenger seating but not "necessary". What I am thinking is the following:
Pathfinder
Saab 9-7
Envoy (would love Danali version)
Acadia
Murano (more of a crossover)
FX (if I go the crossover route and a bit more money)
Used Q7's are in the 35k to 40k range so they are out.

Saw one in Bridgewater 06', 39K miles for $28K
I think it's going down the road for less than $25K...
One Nice Ride for the money!!<ul><li><a href="http://ps.getauto.com/dealer/details/24040/WP1AA29P56LA22465/">Look...</a></li></ul>

4Runner and Pilot > Pathfinder in many ways
If the passengers include kids, you could consider the 3-row versions of the RAV4 and Highlander as well. Fits 4 adults and 2-3 kids.
Don't really like the TrailBlazer or any of its clones (9-7X, Envoy, etc.), they're outdated and are more often found in rental car lots than in people's driveways. Hasn't GM/Chevy killed the TB due to poor sales?
Acadia and clones look good, but a little on the large side.
FX is probably the fastest or most raucous of the ones you listed, but the outgoing one is beginning to look dated (the new one looks pretty impressive, but one wonders how quickly that kind of bold styling ages)
