thinking about moving from Forest Hills to Brooklyn...
i work out at the hospitals in manhasset and new hyde park...my wife works in the west village. the subway rides from forest hills to west village are really annoying my wife (1hr 20minutes each way)...
so we're thinking of moving to brooklyn. we love Dumbo...but it seems a bit expensive. Williamsburg, Carroll Gardens are other options....
do you guys have any suggestions of 'nice' areas of brooklyn....which are alive and at least have SOME stuff goin on there? we're looking to get a 1br in the $1700 to $2100 range hopefully. gotta park the TT as well.
any suggestions are appreciated

I live in DUMBO if you want pointers but it is expensive
it'll be tough to find something in your price range there. We used to live in Brooklyn Heights and loved that. You might be able to find a 1BR in your price range there. We had one and it was in that range. Boerum Hill might be a good place to look - less expensive but same access to Smith & Court Sts as Carrol Gardens and better access to subway lines and even LIRR.
