Well...tomorrow is my Court Date for an "Unsafe Lane Change" ticket in upstate NY....
It's a 2-hour+ drive to the court. I hope I don't fall asleep at the wheel again. <sigh>

Can't....I have a Speeding conviction w/in 18 months of this ticket = $150. - $300. Surcharge if...
...this ticket is upheld as a Moving Violation.
I am hoping to get it reduced to a non-moving violation.

NY is a PITA.
What is the problem, does CT and NY share data? Will this impact Insurance rates?

NYS doesn't share data...but you do have a "Driving Record" in NYS if you are from CT.
I have never had a NYS ticket impact my CT Driver's License or Insurance Rates, however, with this new surcharge they have, if you get a second moving violation w/in 18 months....you get hit with a $150.-$300. surcharge on top of the ticket if you just mail in the ticket w/o fighting it.
You can loose your "priviledge to drive" in NYS if you accumulate more than 11 Points at any given time. (don't ask me how I know this....)
I think it's worth fighting it.

I'm hoping the trooper dosen't show. He even told me to plead not guilty & the court will be ok
....about it.
We'll see.
He wrote on the accident report that cause = "Fell Asleep"
I don't think the animal excuse will work.
I'll just plead it was not intentional and and ask for leniency from the court.
