the body shop is obviously going to over est. the car...so, get the parts at cost, cash the insurance check, and use the left over cash to front the rental fee.... come on EM you know how it works.

If the other insurance company is accepting 100% liability than they should be billed directly. You should not have to pay up front and wait for reimbursement. This accident sounds entirely the other persons fault. This should not be a problem. Have you called your insurance agent?

I returned the car on time but I guess they never did the proper paperwork to see that it was returned so they charged all these extra costs. I fought for months with them and Jack Daniels and my CC company .. I told them I wouldn't pay it .. I kept telling the CC company I wouldn't pay for it .. Eventually Jack Daniels picked up the tab as it was really their fault as they didn't let Enterprise know the car was returned to the dealer. Go with Hertz .. They've always been great on vacations (upgrading my economy car to a convertible with no extra cost) and so on .. this story sucks

My last accident the other party claimed their insured wasn't at fault (she rear ended another car, causing a three car collision with a cop as a witness). There was no reasoning with her insurance company, so there was no direct bill. A month later it turned out she didn't have insurance...insurance company denied everything, and it took me 3 years to recover the rental expenses that were in excess of what the coverage on my policy allowed. Without that rental coverage, I probably would have been out another $700 or so.
Accidents are bad enough...but it just sucks when you're scrambling to find money to pay for a rented car so you can get to work.
Glad it worked out for ya.
