97 Volvo 850 sedan BT... "Check Engine" light has come on because of cracked Dizzy cap....
Having replaced it, how can I turn off the lite? Can I rent a code scanner from Autozone or Pep Boys and turn it off?

Have you looked on brickboard.com?
I sometimes help a friend with a '94 850. Although it's not as user-friendly as it used to be, I have gotten good advice there.
