Default Re: What kind of router? How old is it?

It's a D-Link router maybe two years old. I have a linksys wireless pickup for the desktop and printer. All comps are running XP. my desktop was custom built two years ago with the really GOOD gear (amd 64 etc.) We don't have a secure network, not sure how to do it with the xbox on it. Pretty sure the router is crap, looking into a new one. My desktop seems to be running really wierd, like it won't play DVD movies, other random wierdness. my laptop is a brand new lenovo T60, but needs RAM badly. The only spyware/anti-virus i have is the windows live OneCare and the windows defender. I had zonelabs for a while and really hated it. I'm open for suggestions. I heard mcaffee was crap, is there a good one?
Very open to suggestions, and appaerently viruses too.

Default yeah, he is the bomb, he has always fixed/upgraded/troubleshoot'd all my CPU issues, he left MS to

start his own business, so I am sure he will work with you on pricing. Also a good guy for getting CPU parts cheap!

Give hime a call and let him know what you have going on, the phone call wont cost you anything

Default Yup, first run a firmware upgrade. 2nd get your network secure.

Depending on where you live, leechers / WAR drivers are all around, and quite a few have malicious inentions.

If you need a wireless adapter that supports encryption for the XBOX let me know. I have one floating around no longer in use.

Default alright, well I don't think I'll have you beat this time.

we'll have to go ride sometime. I'm looking for a new ride with AWD so I can contribute to the driving sometime.
