Default Any recommendations for places to mount tires in Blaine or Bellingham?

Just picked up a set of used BBS RC and wanted to mount some Falken 615 on them.

TIA for any suggestions.

Default I use Discount Tire on Lakeway B'ham... just let 'em you want them to be VERY careful.

I've had quite a few sets mounted by them ... no dings or scratches to date.

Default I've had two sets of RS4 reps mounted by them. They scratched both of them...

But they did apologize and gave me a VERY generous discount on whatever I needed. I need to mention that they were hard wheels/tires to mount as well. 215's on a 8.5" wheel so they had a ton of stretch and the lip of the wheel was very exposed. All said and done, they treated me so well I will not hesitate to go there every time I want to get my stuff mounted. I give them the okay.

Default I agree with Gorobei, you might want to check the specs of your tires to make sure...

that they can be used on 8.5" rims.

Default They can. 215's on an 8.5 is stretched on an Audi... but nothing like what they do on VW's.

They are Falken 452's (Most common tire used for the stretch and poked look) and I've seen tires WAY more stretched. I'm not too worried about it as long as I'm not autocrossing the car, tracking it, etc.

Thats stupid. Not good for the tire, rim and car. Sounds very honda racerish.

Default To each his own, and all that, but what's the appeal here?

I assume it's strictly a for-looks kind of thing?

You have a great looking car in your sig so I was just surprised to read this, I guess.

Default Oh yeah?

First of all, you're wrong. Second, I'd love for you to tell me why it is "not good for the car". Running stretched tires on a car will have absolutely ZERO effect on the reliability of the car. You're a joke. Before you go calling someone out about something that they obviously know FAR more about, get your facts straight. Honda racerish? Unreal.
