Default Doing fine in the Redondo area, went thru pain a few months ago when the upgrades for more HD rolled

out.

Call and bitch. My problem was "gain too high for transmitting frequency band".

It took three? visits over a couple of weeks. My neighbor had Comcast Internet and digital TV. His TV was fine the whole time but he had the same connection problems I did.

When the problem started I would loose my connection for 5 to 15 minutes at a time, near the end I lost Internet connectivity for a day or so.

Cable is fast, yet Fios is even faster

I get about 2.7 to 3 megaBYTES per second on cable. Your FIOS beating that?

Default Yup...

I get full tilt 19.2 Mbps uncrunched HD streams on my TV.

Which makes up for my measly and highly consistent 2.5MBps up AND down speeds.

Try that on your asymetrical shared DOCSIS node.

Sadly it does come with a price. There is no risk of having monthly usage caps, packet filtering / blocking and inconsistent service up times.

Yeah, it sucks on FiOS.
