Anyone know of good Portland contacts to repair wheels - curb checked one and want to get it fixed.

Also - what's the average price. I've seen $55 or so up in Seattle, but heard $100 is average in Portland. True?

"I spent some time with the Skip's Wheel Werks folks and I thought it was important to update the information posted last week. They may do an amazing job with curb rash but the pricing was waay off. Skip says "we don't do band-aids" and the minimum wheel repair is to strip the wheel down to aluminum and start from scratch. Minimum charge: $150 per wheel. I asked about my minor, surface-level scratches- $150 per wheel. No exceptions. Skip said there are shops in California that do spot repair without doing everything he does, but there are none in Portland that he's aware of and he's not willing to do anything but the full treatment.
Anyone know of a wheel shop here that will take out minor scratches inexpensively?
Cheers!"

"Hmmm, I'll add that I have spoken with Skip on a
couple occasions and he's quoted me $75-$100/ea. for a full refinish of some 15" BBS RM's. Seemed like a good deal but had to put it on the back burner until towards the end of the project. I'll have to inquire as to what his "new" pricing is. After speaking with Skip, I can understand why he is so adamant that the entire wheel be stripped and refinished. Everything about him is very meticulous and he seemed genuinely concerned with the quality he was putting out. I can only assume flaking paint and mismatched color is his
prime concern. Then again, his "reject" pile was full of badly battered Porsche and 17 and 18" BMW & Merc wheels. Maybe he can afford to be choosy with his customers."
