Default Audi Club Question....

Does anyone here have a lifetime membership to Audi Club. Contemplating dropping the $600 to join. IS IT WORTH IT?

Default I thinkyou'd need to figure out what you'd want to get out of it.

you get membership to Quattro quarterly and discounts on attending events and HPDE's if that's up your alley.

If not, I doubt it. YMMV

Default n00b...HPDE's?

I would just like the track time at different locations and an excuse to go on vacations.

Default Lots of other options...

Rather than dropping the whole bundle for a lifetime fee now, you might want to pay your annual dues when you sign up for an event and experiment with other groups that run March to October at Pacific Raceways and Portland.

Pacific Raceways:
Alfa Club NW (non-members welcome)
PNWR Porsche Club (non-members welcome)
BMW Puget Sound (members only; wait list for non BMWs)
IRDC (non-members welcome)
Speedware Motorsports (no membership req.)

Portland:
Cascade SCC (non-members welcome)
Alfa Romeo Owners of Oregon (members)
BMW ACA Portland (members)
Oregon Region Porche Club (non members welcome)
Shelby Club (non-members welcome)

Note: The Oregon Alfa and BMW guys accept each others members and members from the Seattle area clubs. They don't care what you drive; membership is open to all (but you only need to join ONE of the clubs to access any of their track events). You cannot join the Porsche clubs unless you own a Porsche, but they welcome other makes at their track events. The BMW Puget Sound club is open to anyone, but if you don't have a BMW, you are probably going to be wait-listed for their track days now. That apparently is a "new" policy. That's why I joined BMW ACA Portland.

These groups account for 25+ track days from March to Oct each year at Pacific Raceways and Portland. On top of that, ProFormance runs at least twice a month, sometimes four times a month at Pacific Raceways (no member fee) and goes on the road to Portland and other locations. Audi runs one Portland 2-day event in November and another Portland event in February, unless you count Bremerton (heh heh). They do not conduct events at Pacific Raceways.

If track access is what you're looking for, there are probably better local options in terms of timing and venue access.

Default I'll have to look into all of them and see what fits.

Thanks for all the info.
