I have heard people say that a Quattro Audi will out handle most anything on the road including 4x4 trucks... my truck does very well in the snow, i've never tried driving an Audi....and was just wondering if it'd be worthwhile to put snowies on the Audi's (TT and A6) for fun.

side of the road or in a ditch.
I made it home up a very steep hill (not to mention I came home from 1-90 OVER issy plateau!) and then up union hill (ames lake rd) and the allroad was like a tank! No slipping at all. It was great.
I just measured we have about 8" of snow at my house it's insane!!!!!!!

tires, and more of an equal balance on the axles. 4x4's are generally too front heavy to get traction in the rear. I'd say an Audi is almost going to beat any car on the road with good snow tires as long as the snow isn't deeper than the ground clearance. That's where a higher 4x4 would win.
SUV's are basically for the urban cowboys that like the thought of going "off-road", but never will.

It also depends on the type of system on the car. Not to knock on your TT, but IMO, the Torsen system is better than the Haldex system.
