does anyone here happen to have a borescope or know of a place that rents the cheap ones?

all the inspection rental i've called only have the super-high end stuff ($400 minimum rental)... i can buy a ghetto one with a mirror for the same price that will (probably) be adequate to inspect for engine carnage.

Default I would suggest checking Autozone or Shucks. I hope your car will come out of OK, for min $'s Nathan

It is ironic, your car is broke and you can't drive it. My car runs fine, but WA won't license it, because it won't pass emissions.

Default i'll try a few places. i'd rather buy something for <$400 than rent one of the nice ones

i'm hoping i get lucky and just need a new water pump or something... otherwise i'll settle in, get some wet-weather gear and ride the m/c for a few months and tear down the motor after i get the house finished up
