Faster 1.8T or 2.8?

Default Faster 1.8T or 2.8?

my friend and I have been debating on what's faster, 1.8T or 2.8? both manuals year 2000

in stock form, 2.8 has more hp but 1.8t is SOOOO much more "moddable"

Default The 1.8L turbo has its peak torque ~1,700 rpm, while the 2.8L V6 is more like ~3,400 rpm. The...

in-line 4-cylinder engine will wind up faster than the V6, so it will be quicker off-the-line. However, the 2.8L has more HP at the high end, so it could eventually catch and pass the 1.8L. There also is a weight difference, which slows acceleration of the V6. As Imolavirus::Infected says, the 1.8L has MANY more mods available to boost its performance than the 2.8L. So if you mod the 1.8L, you could actually have greater HP at the top end than the 2.8L V6.

2.8 without a doubt: From 0-60, 8.1 for the 1.8T, 7.1 for the 2.8
