Default Going to register my car in WA state.. do I need to smog the car?

I'm registering my car this next week-- do I need to smog the car? I live in Redmond, and if I need to smog the car, do they check by sniffer or just by OBD port?
Can any of you guys personally recommend a smog shop that will be lenient on visual inspections and stuff? It would be such a hassle since I don't have my stock airbox any longer, and oh yeah, I have a full cat-less custom exhaust (but no CEL thanks to an angle blocker). Thanks!

Default All vehicles that are registered in the three main Western WA counties have to pass emissions tests.

All 1996 and newer vehicles are tested via the OBD-II port. There must not be any DTCs and it must pass the readiness check, as HeartlessNomad12 states. All emissions stations are owned by WA Department of Ecology and operated by a contractor; no smog shops like in CA.

What constitutes a readiness check?

Default Car will have to have the DTC cleared and go through a few drive cycles for the readiness codes to

reset.

Default Not quite. Mine failed because O2 sensor closed loop operation was disabled in SW. Would never

come ready no matter how much I drove. Fixed with SW update..
