Hey hey pacNW, going to be out in Portland - Seattle for a week or so...
would love to hear some suggestions on different things to experience/visit =-)
I have Pikes Place Market as a starting point, as well as the Olympus Rally. Any other suggestions in or around the area would be awesome.
thanks

Anything specific you're interested in?
(Note, all these are Portland area)
Lots of outdoors activities. Mt Hood is great for skiing/snowboarding, or just sightseeing. Columbia River Gorge has a lot of beautiful spots (Multnomah Falls, Crown Pointe, Bonneville Dam). Also a lot of hiking trails in the area. The Oregon coast is beautiful. Mt St Helens is not too far away.
Then there's all kinds of stuff to do within Portland. Lots of happy hour places if you're looking for a singles scene. Lots of microbrews in the area... if you like sampling good beer, you won't run out of choices. Plenty of restaurants we can recommend too.
Also a good amount of sightseeing spots within the city limits... Washington Park/Rose Garden, waterfront, Forest Park, Portland City Grill, etc.
Give us an idea what you're thinking of and we can give you more specifics.

honestly, it's geared around photography and cars....so anything related is cool
also gonna be doing alot of camping and general nature-seeing on the trip (yellowstone, rocky mountain nat'l park, grand canyon nat'l park, etc etc)
just get a general feel for typical portland and seattle.
It can also be as simple as an AW gtg to shoot some cars, and like mentioned earlier, I'm shooting to be at the Olympus rally, take in the race and shoot some photos...
