Hi I'm new...
My husband and I along with our kids will be taking a road trip this weekend to Orcas Island. We're from Portland, we've never been there. Is there anyone on here that frequents this area and can give a heads up to some non-touristy places? (hikes, nice drives, whale watching etc...)

I'm very familiar with Lopez, which is right next to Orcas, and could give you a few pointers.
There are some really nice hikes that are hard to find. My favorites are Iceberg Point, Spencer spit, and Shark Reef.
Orcas is beautiful too, take a peek at Mt. Constitution.

Thanks Everyone...
for the helpful hints and the warm welcome.
Looks like we'll probably hike some of Mt. Constitution weather and kid permitting and do some scenic drives. The kids are looking forward to the ferry rides!
