Default We moved from downtown Chicago to here about 2 years ago

We lived in downtown Chicago (Water Tower area) for about 9 years and now we live in Kirkland. Big, big difference (life is way slower out here even in Seattle).

We're originally from Vancouver, BC so we're used to the weather. Not as cold as Chicago but cloudy and grey more than rainy. It does rain though and the rain is steady and usually light, not like the thunderstorms that sweep through the midwest.

Check the local realty listings but you won't be able to find a home with that criteria in that price range unless it's >30 miles from the city most likely. Even the nicer townhomes in the area start around $400-500k.

Big 2nd. $300 to $400K family homes are within 1/2 hour, 40 minutes to Seattle.

Default I live In Aurora right now, bought 20 miles one way to work.. half hour to 45 minute commute

what should I expect for 30 to 40 miles? Obviously the commute will depend on where I find a job, a house, etc. Cant imagine that traffic is worse there then here in Chicago...

Default All in all, you will love Washington State. A lot of people do. I've just stated the 'worse'. ...

there isnt much to gripe about... and if there is, its a moot subject of little value.
