Default I need help finding an accountant. H&R Block any good?

It kinda scares me that they are located inside a Fred Meyer. I don't want to spend too much, ya know

Default If you can wait until the end of the week, I have $15 off from H&R Block.

We've had our taxes done their the last few years and they are fine for us, but not sure how many deductions and exemptions you file. I think their rate is based on the number of forms that you bring in and they have to process and ours was like $250 this year. I'm sure going to a private CPA or whatever is better, but we haven't had any problems with H&R.

Default H&R Block kicks ***. I'm a CPA and I would use them.

Just look for the oldest dude in the joint and ask for him. Most of those guys have been doing it for years. Their software is awesome and the preparers get pretty good training.

Lots of bang for the buck.

Default H&R Block are not accountants. They fill in the blanks on your tax forms. Here's something:

There is super cheap tax prep software available.

H&R Block's is one of them. It is very similar to what they use in their offices.

If your situtation is straight forward, this is by far the best.

If you have more complicated taxes (income from trusts, investment properties, or LLCs) then getting a CPA (not H&R Block) is a good idea.

I used this site and have a slightly complicated return (carry forwards, home interest, etc) and it worked great.

irs e-file stuff

Default It's easier to use H&R's online form..you can fill in your own blanks for $15.

That's what I used to use...and they direct-deposit it into your bank account in about 2 weeks.

I have an accountant now but I think she's crazy...so I can't reccomend her to you. (Literally crazy...I'm going to see how my taxes turn out and then run).

Default Uhh...hard to say. I've known him for 10 years, and my folks have...

used him for more than 20. It was about $150-200 the last couple years. I had some dual-residency and other things going on that took longer and cost me more for different forms. Give him a call and tell him Jake referred you, I'm sure you can work something out.
