Default I also recommend Pacific City

Try to check out the tide pools at low tide.

also Pelican Pub is really nice. The food is a bit over priced but their beer totally makes up for it!

Have a safe trip =)

Default Thanks everyone! Will try to fit in as many suggestions as possible. BTW, I understand you still

can't pump your own gas. Is this true? Do you think there will be any issues driving the car below, other than the inevitable circus?

The drive will be this weekend if it happens. Won't know for sure until the last minute.

I don't think you'll run into issues really. Our gas sucks, but other than that....

Default Just tell the gas station you pump more then 200 gallons a month and it's legal

Or at least that is what I was told to say. There is supposedly some law in Oregon stating that it is legal to pump your own if you pump more then 200g a month. I'm sure you don't but who would know that. Worth a try at least if you would rather them not touch that sexy thing!!!

Default Sorry so brief but it was a busy day earlier and I was posting between meetings

Depending on how far south you want to go on day 1, Salishan Resort is just north of Newport. Newport has probably the most stuff on the central coast including the Rogue brewery and the aquarium. If you drive a bit further south near Yachats is the Overleaf Lodge which is pretty nice. If you can get a jacuzzi room it makes for a great evening as they are right in the window very close to the water crashing on the rocks.

I've seen a ton of nice cars on 101 so it's not like they are super rarities. Sounds like a great trip as the weather should be decent this weekend. Have fun with that thing!

Oswald West and Short Sands beach are personal faves. Cape Lookout is cool too.
