POWDER ALERT! You will like this one! ((Sent out 5:12 PM Monday))
No doubt you've heard about the snow coming for the lowlands, but the real story for snowriders is powder for the mountains. It will be quality and quantity coming for the Cascades. We've got a base now and the snow this week will add to that, while creating epic powder conditions.
It's a complex weather pattern with cold air in place and two weather systems to give us snow in a one-two punch. The bottom line is it's a great set up with low snow levels 500-1000ft for fantastic conditions.
Here is how I see it. Tuesday: 4 - 8" new by morning. Snow level 500ft, oh so dry, that powder. A Powder Day by any other name would be so sweet! Ride in snow (additional 2- 4") most of the day, filling in your tracks. I think Wednesday will probably be the best day. There will be an additional 2-5" by morning with low snow levels of 500-1500ft. Some clearing through the day. Thursday and Friday will get more snow, with low snow levels - so it's a powder fest week! Groomer runs will be silky.
Be careful on the drive , there may be snow all the way. Just slow down a bit.
Don't forget to check for periodic snow updates at my powder watch page at Ski Washington
See ya on the slopes; I'll be the one searching for and skiing the powder.
