Hi,
I am considering taking my car to Autohaus Vic for transmission rebuild. How reliable are they?
I enquired at Redmond workshop and Barrier - prices seem high.
Also, is a rebuilt transmission any good ? (compared to replacing the transmission)

Well if you get a rebuilt make sure it comes with a good warranty
And consider the cost/inconvienience to you if it ever needs to be replaced again, rental cars and towing add up fast. Whatever route you choose just make sure the shop knows what they are doing 100%.

I would stay away from Autohaus Vic.
They did my Timing Belt, Waterpump, and the works. They came up with all sorts of little fee's along the way running the bill upto double of what the warranty would cover. Not to mention that after they worked on it my car was in there every month for something different. Stuff they should have seen the first time. Like I said STAY AWAY!!!
I would pay a little more @ Redmond Werkshop for the piece of mind knowing that my car was @ a reputatable shop.
