Default Open Letter from Johan de Nysschen to ACNA Members

May 14, 2007

Open Letter to Members: Audi Club North America

Dear Audi Enthusiast:

I am writing this letter to reaffirm my personal support, and that of Audi of America, Inc., to the Audi Club of North America.

The Audi Club of North America is an independent, private organization, and while we take keen interest in the activities of the Club, Audi of America has no desire to interfere or become involved in the management and day to day administration of the Club. However, we have a vested interest in ensuring the continued growth and vibrant success of the Club.

While not wishing to become embroiled in the tension which presently exists between certain members of the Board, it is an inescapable fact that the situation is not healthy, and is not in the long-term best interests of the Club.

Our support is to the Club - not to individual members or to specific members of the Board of Directors. I would, however, encourage the Executive Management of the Club to adopt an inclusive as opposed to an exclusionary approach, and to utilize the available expertise, experience and enthusiasm of members, and to apply this in the interest of the Club which we all value highly.

We encourage all parties to work towards finding a speedy resolution, placing the interests of the Club above all else. I would also encourage Club members to take a more active role in the affairs of the Club and to participate in elections - the democratic process does not work well in the face of voter apathy.

We look forward to the continued success of the Club, and assure you of our continued support.

Sincerely yours,

Johan de Nysschen

Default Currently pending lawsuit between former board members and ACNA

The gist is that new rules were implemented limiting total length of board service. Two members that were over this NEW restriction were ousted, as if the rule was retroactive.

Worse, new members were appointed and not elected by the organization, which is a breach of procedure. The former board members are now suing.

This is our organziation, don't let it be run by jerks. The de Nysschen reply to me is junk, he might as well have taken his picture flipping the bird and emailed it to each ACNA member.

To me that means we won't do jack, just keep sending us your money. They won't side with the guys that left or the guys that stayed. But they encourage the "Exective Management" (which I read as 'remaining board') to fix it. Funny he mentions democratic process when the suit is over elected officials being removed and new ones being appointed and not elected.

Well, my ACNA membership just expired. There is zero chance I will renew until I see how this plays out. I have no loyalty to a group that has no loyalty to me.

Default Insight, lawsuit docs and a summary are available...

... at the link below. The summary is the file "Acna Issue Summary.pdf"

There are the original legal documents there as well as many communications that I have had with the BOD and EC regarding the actions of Keith and company.

ACNA issues summary

Default My membership expired in Jan. I didn't like all the by-laws they passed last fall, so

I didn't renew at the time. And seeing all the crap that's going on now, I'm definitely not renewing.

Default Join the Alfa club man!

It gets you into almost all the events (BMW CCA, BMW ACA, ORPCA, PCA PNW, and AROO) that require "membership" due to cooperative membership recognition...You'll even get into the Audi/Alfa event at PR this summer (although usually NWARC permits any and all participants, but I suspect the Audi partnership will force Alfa to limit its participation to members).

Main benefit: $85 registration cost at all Alfa of Oregon Portland track days for any Alfa club member.

Default Interesting indeed. That's always been one of the reasons I keep my memberships to local groups.

Too bad.
