I saw the Porsche Cayman S on TV the other day... whenever it comes time to get a new car Im gonna be absolutely torn between an audi and this thing. Im curious what others think.

between the 911 and the Boxster S.
Porsche accomplished their goal, they managed to create a car that they could market in between the Boxster S and the 911. What they failed at was giving the boxster chassis true ***** (IE: more power) to beat the 911 around a racetrack. Instead they made it barely as fast, and the power aspect is the only thing it's really missing. I think the cayman S is great, but it reminds me of a world class athlete not living up to his or her full potential. Everyone (including porsche) knows the boxster chassis is better balanced and better handling than a 911, yet their pride in tradition will probably never let them allow a mid engined car they produce to be outright faster than a rear engined one.
Then again, if you could buy a cayman S and pump it up to 350hp you'd be golden.
I also have to think that for 68-69k, I can think of a lot of other cars I'd rather have. 993 turbo and a C6 Z06 are a few that come to mind.

unless im missing some critical add ons for the car... thats part of what makes it so attractive. The 911 being $80k or whatever just seems silly to me. However that said, I think its in the right power & weight range for me that I wouldnt want to mess with it and I actually prefer the styling over the 911 and the Boxster. But thats just my opinion, I appreciate you sharing yours!
Also I should add its just a thought at the moment, Ill be hanging on to my A4 for at least a couple more years, and at that time will consider something like a CPO Cayman S.
