Snow Dump Ahead
Hello Snowriders!
Low Snow Levels all Week, Several Storms
Expect new snow piling up in the Cascades later Monday into Tuesday. We will see 6-12", with the snow levels lowering to 1500ft by Tuesday morning. Another storm is headed our way Wednesday night into Thursday with a 1500ft snow level. That storm will be worth another 5-10"., with lingering snowfall into Friday
The weekend will turn partly sunny and mainly dry, but I think after that, a more consistent, active weather pattern will develop in about 7 or 8 days (about Dec 3 or 4).
It looks like we are turning the corner and our normal late fall pattern will start to take hold. It remains a moderate La Nina, therefore I am still optimistic about the ski season ahead. Just because one month is flat it doesn't mean anything about the rest of the winter. Weather patterns don't "remember" or "stick" beyond a few weeks.
As you may know Mission Ridge is open for your turns with some natural snow and snowmaking. Mt Baker is one storm away from opening - this week should do the trick. A few of the rest, I believe, will get enough snow to partially open by this coming weekend. Check skiwashington.com for details and specifics. More snow to come.
