Default Traffic Court Question

IS it up to the judge if you can use a differal or not in the court room. My girlfriend has never used hers an she tried to use it today for rolling threw a stop sign ticket she got. She told the Judge (Bellevue Court) she would like to use a differal. The judge said I am not going to let you it is up to me if you can use it or not? Is this true? Thanks Adam

Default a deferral is....

where you pay a fee and basically strike a bargain that if you don't get another infraction for a certain peiod(6 or 12 months usually) that it won't go on your record and will basically disappear.

I got one for my 2nd degree neg driving about a year and a half ago, and my period was one year. After lawyer fees and deferral fee (100 bucks for "filing"... go gov't) i paid almost as much as the cost of the ticket but it didn't go on my record.

Really? What state is that? In WA, they have mitigation hearings that allow you to plead guilty but get a reduced fine or deferral. It is strictly at the discretion of the judge.

Probation is no fun! That's why I'll pay somebody like Mitch Greene and get it dismissed.

Default i didn't know of him at the time, otherwise i woulda hit it...

but it worked out cuz i didn't have any more trouble with the men in blue...

my driving habits are actually extradinarily tame compared to most of the guys i know my age, and couple with the fact that i know how to drive and have a safe car is a good thing.

oh yea, and now i'm at school across the country where i dont get a car for 2 more year, so it's no biggie.... my deferral period actually ended while i was in basic. LOL
