Alcon fixed rotors on Alcon 6 piston calipers
Using a fixed rotor is somewhat controversial, but it's been a trouble-free system, and pads have always worn true with no evidence of coning. The 2nd pic shows how they finally died after about 30k miles, including 14 track days. I purchased these brakes from Vortrag in '01, and need to duct some air to the rotors.

Total wear was only 1 mm, but ...
I was planning on replacing them after the track event where it cracked ... waited just one day too long. I had a 7 hr round trip drive Saturday night to pick up the spare rotors at home, and then install them 7:00 am Sunday at the track to be ready for the first session. Sleep, what's that?
The left rotor actually had two cracks that went thru the "outside" face, the other rotor had only surface cracks. Slight surface cracks did develop after the very first track event in 2001, but I wasn't particularly concerned.
