is different ECU programming required after installing FMIC?

But tuning depends on the year of the car. If you have a dbw your ecu will adjust. But lower boost levels at the manifold are not going to hurt you because the lower psi is caused by lower temps. But to take 100% advantage of the FMIC you will want a chip that has more adv timing.

On some models there is a boost sensor on the oem ic so when you remove the ic to instal a fmic the car will not run properly. To overcome this you need to recode the ecu. I can't remember which year's have this sensor maybe someone can chime in.

install a flange for the boost sensor since you cant run the car without it. The people that make FMIC's for our cars put in a flange for the stock boost sensor.
