Passport 8500 - Newer, smaller & better than V1
Just picked mine up this year as a Christmas present. I did my homework first. Here is a review that looks for the "Worlds Best Detector."

I just love it when they trot out radartest. not newer, not smaller.
V1 is 1 inch high 3.6 inches wide and 4.5 inches long.
8500 is 1.25 high 2.85 wide, 5.32 long.
So, which is smaller?
V-1's have an upgrade path-8500 doesn't, so if the V-1 gets continually upgraded, which is newer?
As for Better, Car and driver or Consumer reports have reviewed radar detectors, and I think they're a little more reputable than some noname website.
