Default OMG you have got to be kidding.

Not only is he pushing the turbo WAY out of it's efficiency range, he is not doing anything other than just adding a hot intake charge at that point. At 26 psi a K03 or KO4 is well beyond it's efficiency limits. More boost isn't always better.

Default C'mon ken, lets not do the name calling thing again. That wasn't necessary.

You are right on the boost levels on the APR kits (I'm not sure it's 22-23 though, my vagtool shows 2450 millibar peaks when riding with HurricaneSteve - gotta convert that value), but the compressor map is different for the GT turbos, that's all.

Default Mike, I don't think the issue is blowing up...

it's efficiency - at the upper limit the intake charge begins to take on more heat, thus less power/psi than with a turbo that has a higher efficiency/compressor map. PSI is PSI, but a cooler charge at the same PSI as a hotter one, has a denser airmass, and more oxygen. Thats why IC's are so good for turbo's.

I hope this stays informative, but I see it degrading already. Shame, people can all learn something for a real discussion on boost levels, compressor maps, and IC's. All that kind of talk is independent of who's turbo you use.

Default CUT IT OUT. BOTH OF YOU.

THESE THREADS GET SO F$&$ cluttered up, and noone can get good damn info. EVERYONE stop bashing kits and tuners, and respect what people do or buy. Talk good technical issues, as they are all damn independent of WHOSE equipment you get.

Can we all just f&*(^ talk performance? DAMN. What a cluster **** this always turns out to be.

From now on I can see the only reason to bash ANY TUNER, and I mean ANY, is if you have a vested tie-in with one, and are looking to bias info for garnering a sale. Otherwise why does anyone give a rats *** WHAT someone puts on a car? Buy it, Like it, drive it. Lets all stop saying "... I heard..". and stick with good info. PLEASE.

Default Intake charge is not a problem.

I suppose you could speculate that my intake charge is hot and it probably would be if I did not run a Front Mount. Even with the amount of boost I'm running my intake temperatures are considerably lower than they were when I had a chipped K03 without the FMIC.

Default Ok

But you still are pushing the turbo WAY out of it's efficiency range
