Default Lossing boost... Vagged..

Background on the car.. The only engine mod on the car is the x-chip.. Ive got the stock DV, Stock N75 valve, and stock exhaust, on the car.. Ive started different N75 valves, a different exhaust, and different DVs, changed what you are about to see..

I started to notice boost drops like the one you will see below about 2-3 weeks after I got the chip (at first I figured it was just some heat soak) and that was when the car had 7800miles (about).. less then one year later I am now at 22,000miles and still have the same problem.. =) After some months of fustration I removed the chip, cursed it, and drove with the stock one.. It worked fine with the stock chip but she doesn't want to work with X in her..

I checked for misfires while running these logs on the highway, and I had none.. How do I check the knock sensors?

Next time I have the chance I will log the knock sensors and timing.. I would have done it tonight but there were too many cops out.. and 6th gear runs don't fly in their book.. : (

This run was done as I was getting onto a highway.. I started out in 2nd, mashed the throttle, shifted into third at around 5800rpms, mashed the throttle, shifted into fourth around 5900rpms, mashed the throttle agian, shifted into 5th at around 5900 rpms and when I got into 5th you can see that boost started to drop off and the rate at which the engine speed accelerated started to decrease..

This run doesn't show a dramtic drop in boost like the first one but if you look closely you can see that I started to loose boost in 5th, and still held that lower amound in 6th gear..

A normal 4th gear run..

Default Do you know what version of the Xchip you are using?

There is also a normal version chip for the 2002.

2002 TT 225 hp 018AN05.08a
2002 TT 225 hp usa X-chip 018AN05x.08a

Default no ****.. wow.. When I talked with PES they said I had the only version out which was an x version..

How can I find out the exact name of the chip?

Back in November I tried getting the non-x program for the car from PES but they didn't have it and didn't think it existed.

I definitely have the x-chip.. Any idea if they have a newer version of 'x'? Any idea what is causing my problem?

thanks..

Default I think GIAC did new non surge chips but those might be for the normal vw/audi 1.8t's

You might want to open up your ecu and look on the chip, there will be a white GIAC sticker and the version of the chip will be hand written on there. Compare it to the versions I just put on the last reply, those came from the new list I just got. You can also look up those chips on AWE, here is a link if you dont know where to look.

Default Mike...

018AN05.08A is the X-Chip. There is no 018AN05X.08A program.

Default I am just going off of my GIAC list and even the list on AWE.

Both of them list the 2 chips I posted.

BTW GIAC shows the 018AN05.08A as a 20-30 hp gain over the stock 225hp while the AWE shows the Xchip as a 45 hp gain. I guess a quick call to GIAC will fix this.
