Default pull a hose off that leads from the turbo to IC to check for oil coming from the turbo

if there is no oil, then you can rule out the turbo(mostly, could be damage on turbine side). Then i'd start checking thinks like frequency valve ect...

what kind of car is it?

Default Actually if you do that test the oil can be coming from the turbo or the crank case breather

if you pull the inlet hose to the turbo, you can check there for oil. If there is alot of oil there then its coming from the crank case. Most of the time when a turbo goes it will leak oil into the exhaust side causing it to smoke during start ups.

I think his problem could be the tial wastegate which might be stuck in the open position which just happend to a friend of mine.

Limp puts the car into a 5psi or 10psi mode. So thats not the issue with his car.

Default Follow up....strange coincidence.

My son's car just had oil shooting out the BoV. Upon further inspection..he found too much oil in the engine. He overfilled it one night, misreading the dip stick. He drained out about a quart nd no more problem. I don't know if its related.. but it can't hurt to check.

Default yeah, that would relate to what Audi2ptzero was relating to about oil coming out through the

crankcase breather tube
