Quattro is it awd or just ?
I was just wondering as I was under the impression that the quattro was a awd system and drove all the wheel's all the time . I just broke the inside cv on the front driver's side and the car wouldn't move. I was just a little dissapointed to find out that it's just like having a 4x4 without limited slip you loose traction to one wheel and noda zipp zero you are stuck . Luckely I was in my driveway and could just push it back into the garage. Oh yea it's a 96 a4 and I broke the cv while replacing the outside boot and didn't want to take the drive shaft off so I must have wasted it when I drove the cv back on the shaft as it took a little beating to get it back on.Am I off base here or is something else maybe wrong with with the quattro drive system in my car?

Re: the quattro has Electronic and Torsen Differentials therefore AWD
Ok , then how come my car wouldn't move when I lost the cv? Would there be a code that would show up on a vag that could tell me if it's workng ?
