Tiptronic upshift

My 99 A6 2.8 shifts automatically from 1st to 2nd in Tip mode, at different rpm's depending on how much you mash the throttle. Needless to say, when starting off in traffic, it's very annoying (not to mention lame) when it upshifts at 2000 rpm's. Can it be disabled/undone? Is there a chip for this? The test car I drove was a 99 and didn't do this.

if you drive normally the trans will shift immediately to second. The more agressively you accelerate from a dead stop the longer first holds. Mash the throttle from a dead stop. Your trans will hold first until redline or you release the throttle. The 0032 coding will change this behavior somewhat. A tip chip may help more. Do a search on the A6 forum for more info.
Food for thought, depending on the mileage on your car you may want to consider changing the trans fluid and the strainer (filter). The dealer will tell you it is "lifetime" don't believe it.

Transmission fluid change info
