Default No choices for Interior lighting?

Hi folks, just got a new '21 Q3, mostly as a family/teenager car. So far, all good.. we're liking it a lot.

I saw a Q3 video where there were multiple options for interior light colors - my Q3 has no choice. I have the Convenience package that includes 'LED interior lighting package', but no color choices.

Does this require a higher trim line, am I missing a software update? It's a US car.

Yours and my interior lighting is white light LED's only. To have the different color LED's, you need the Prestige trim level I believe.

Following up on this thread, I am currently shopping for a Q3, and am trying to figure out the difference between the Premium and Premium Plus interior lighting. I understand that the PP has the color changing interior lights, but is that the only difference? Is the lighting the exact same in the Premium, but just in white? I have seen photos of lighting around the cupholders, but is that only on the PP? Many thanks in advance for your help, as Audi's marketing materials do not make any of this clear!

I think the confusion, like you said is due to not enough information on the Audi website. Are you in the US? I can only comment on the US market trim levels, not CA or other countries.
When the new generation of the Q3 was released in 2019, there were three trim levels. Premium, PP and Prestige. Only the Prestige trim level had the Ambient color changing interior LED lighting. The Premium Plus trim has the same lighting strips but was only white lighting. I didn't think the Premium trim has the lighting at all, but can't confirm.

For 2021, Audi decided to remove the Prestige trim level to add to some confusion. On the the Audi US website, it says under PP trim level, LED interior lighting package plus (customizable), So to me, I interpret that as color changing. Does the Premium trim just have the white lighting now?
I'd contact your local Audi dealer to find out exactly and specifically what options are found on what trim level if you are going to order or purchase one.

I bought the Premium S Line trim (I believe they are all S Line now) with the optional Convenience Package which includes 'LED interior lighting package' which is white lines only (doors, cup holder, etc), not customizable. As LX302 points out, the Premium Plus has '....lighting package customizable' which must mean you have color choices. Best way to confirm is a visit to the dealer. Regardless, it's a great car for this segment that we use as an extra family/teenagers car and we're very happy with our choice. It's a nice upgrade from the VW Tiguan (which we were considering) and the GTI engine is responsive and peppy.

BTW, when purchasing, my dealer said that Premium with Convenience package had everything that the Premium Plus has except adaptive cruise control. Now we know he missed something - customizable lighting.

Thanks to both of you for the help and your thorough answers. I’m glad to hear you are liking the Q3. One other feature on the PP is full LED headlights with signature daytime running lights. The Premium has LEDs without the signature lights. I believe the premium headlights are also reflector as opposed to projector lights.

I am coming from a 2015 VW Golf that has projector HIDs with a nice daytime running light design, so the Premium lights are disappointing. However, the Q3 is obviously much more car than the Golf, and I’m not sure the P+ is worth it to me to get the better headlights, color changing interior lighting, adaptive cruise, and a few other minor features, like Homelink (I don’t have a garage door opener to begin with, so I don’t care).

By the way, I was able to ascertain the full list of P+ extras over the P with Convenience from my dealer’s website:
  • Audi Phone Box w/Wireless Charging
  • Adaptive Cruise Assist w/Traffic Jam Assist
  • Aluminum Spectrum Inlays
  • HomeLink Garage Door Opener
  • Full LED Headlights w/Unique DRL Signature
  • Customizable LED Interior Lighting Package Plus
  • Stainless Steel Trunk Sill

The last one, stainless trunk sill, I believe may actually be on Premium with Convenience models, too.
