Default Front LEDs shorting out electrical system.

Just a heads up. My brother had several electrical problems with his Q5. He took it into the dealership and they said there is an unofficial recall on the front LED assembly. Worst case scenario is that it fries the entire electrical system of the Q5.

If anyone has any official word from Audi on this please post.

I just had mine in last week because the left DRL was burnt out. I had a warning on the display and when I took it in, it took them along time to diagnose the issue and finally said it was a module that had to be ordered overseas. Hopefully the problem will be fixed when the module gets replaced.

I remember the service rep saying something about a recall but I wasn't sure if she meant my Q5 or another vehicle. I will have to ask when I take it back.

Had the exact same problem that thegreaser mentioned. Turns out they swapped both headlight modules. The TSB off of my paperwork is 2020780/3. I had this done last Friday.

Default 8 reports so far. Looks like all 09 non S-Line driver side

Also cars arrived May to June 09. So If there is a recall it is likely to be fairly specific. I could go one further and list all the other Q5s in here that fit in this category but that would be going one step beyond anything I have done so far.
To date.

You can add "control module replaced" to mine.

Mine failed as well on Friday. Dealership said it was caused by software. I am going in this coming Monday to get it addressed.
